The
technology world we live in today is one that is moving fast and mobile. The best transition to make for college
students in my opinion is from a laptop to a tablet. I have made the move from my MacBook Pro to
an iPad Mini. It has been one of the best
technological moves I have ever made. It
is small, sleek, light, and it can do pretty much everything. Before the iPad Mini, I had to carry my heavy
MacBook and charger. Now I just carry my
iPad, my binder, and my very small iPad charger. I use it for everything. I have all my files
on Google Drive and I view them and edit them on other apps I have
downloaded. It’s the best way to be
interactive in class when taking notes and viewing files.

ReplyDeleteEven though I do not own an iPad of my own, I agree with you. I carry around my 13 inch MacBook and by the end of the day my back is hurting from carrying it throughout campus. When the iPad first emerged I never thought it could replace a laptop but Apple and other companies have made so many nifty accessories that it is possible to make your tablet into everything you love about your laptop.

I to have made the change! I love having my Ipad instead of bringing my mac around with me and the charger. My Ipad's battery life is awesome and It is so small my back doesn't break everyday. This was a great move on apples part to make these tablets. It has definitely made my life A LOT easier!
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree that tablets are a great option for college students. I have an iPad mini thatI bring to class, and I can take notes by writing with a stylus on the screen. It is much lighter than carrying around my laptop and it has plenty of space. I still use my laptop at home, but even then I use it much less than I did before because my iPad is so useful and easy!

I also believe that tablets are the future for college students, as well as on the go technological use in general. Laptops are great, but like you said, even the sleekest models are sort of a burden to haul around from class to class. iPads and other tablets make for easy travel and do the same things a laptop can do, not to mention the ease of having a touch screen at your fingertips. I think in the very near future, a large majority of students will follow your footseps and make the change. Great Post!- Garrett Buege

ReplyDeleteI do not own an iPad at this time, but I would definitely like to purchase one in the future. I have a laptop, but I do not bring it to class for the same reason you mentioned. An iPad would be a more convenient and just as effective way to do research, take notes, etc. I think everyone should make an investment in one.

I love my kindle fire. With all of my textbooks purchased through amazon, not only are my pockets happy, but my back is as well. My favorite key feature in regards to textbooks on my tablet would be the search feature. Any keyword you are looking for can be typed in, and all the pages with that keyword mentioned are listed. This makes studying that much painless.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that iPads are the best tablets out there. I have a MacBook and an iPhone so I am apart of the Apple family but I'm not sure if I would be willing to spend the money on an iPad when I can get a tablet that is just as good as an iPad at half the price. I do think that tablets are innovated and a lot easier to handle than laptops, so switching over to one wouldn't be a big deal. For me it’s spending the money on it.
ReplyDeleteI agree that tablets are a great tool for college students. I have a toshiba thrive. It's not the smallest tablet but I can do just about anything on it. I use it to take notes in class. It is synced with my laptop so any docs I save on it, I can find on my laptop as well. I use E-books, so I don't have to carry textbooks around. The battery lasts all day, so I only have to charge it at night. I'm hoping to invest in the Surface tablet.
